Just received April edition of "Flex" It has an article called "Creatine: A 2001 users guide". Ans it says creatine is proven safe by scientific studys and that the media is what is giving it a bad name. They recommend that you take 3 grams of creatine with 50 grams of dextrose and 50 grams of protein, as a postexercise recovery.

..but then you have to look at two sides, media will say something to get a good story and owners of Flex will say something different to get people to buy their products. So, it`s all difference of opinion. The truth, you will never find out which side is right, unless something bad will happen.

Read the article. It has about 10 different scientific tests on creatine. Not just Weiders.

I don't disagree with either of you but I do have to say that there has never been any definite proof that Creatine has long term effects on the body if taken wisely.. Alkatraz

I personally don't think Creatine is as bad as everyone says it is because, if you are smart at what are you doing and consious of the effects if taking wrongly, then it should be okay. But I do think that effects may take it's place when dealing with creatine if used over a long term period. I think the people who are smart, benefit and the ones that abuse them get into the trouble. So in part, everyone is right, the media covers only the bad things (which are truthful, but only to those abusers) and the owners used the beneficial part (which is also truthful, but to those people who use it wisely).

You also need glutamine for recovery.

Creatine is bad for some just like everything on this green earth. Nothing is 100 percent safe...not even breathing anymore.
