Well, I don't know the direct effects, but a question to you would be why would you even do this? Any serious training athelete would not do this,to maximise their gains. I guess it depends on how serious you are about your training. I never have seen the purpose of destroying an intense workout with a binge of alcohol, that may end up destroying more than just one day. Though if you have to, I would think getting smashed once would be better than someone who drinks a few every day. I do know that alcohol is metabolized as sugar, and these are empty calories in themselves. A bit off the subject maybe here, but the application/logic is sound.

One other thing that I would be concerned about is that alcohol is a diuretic, which is not a fun thing to be on when taking creatine.

I don't want to make it sound like we are all against drinking and making you out to be a big drinker.
The purpose for training, is to feel healthy and speed up your meabolism, and in your case taking creatine to give your muscles more volume.
Just want to tell you that alcohol at any rate that you consume it will slow down your meabolic rate and put a stop on any fat burning that you were hoping for. Just my 2 cents.

Your doses should be before and after your workout and on off days around the same times.

Sorry if I implied you were a huge drinker redwing, didn't mean to. Was just trying to state the obvious about what alcohol does, no matter how much the consumption...my apologies if you took it that way.

I agree with everyone else here, alcohol is a toxin to your body plain and simple and I don't care what the studies say about it's healthful effects when drinks are consumed in moderation. Your body treats it as a foreign substance and simply cannot process it properly. Along with it's 7 kcal per gram content, it packs a serious punch, even in moderation. And among other problems, alcohol can really effect your testosterone levels, NOT a good environment for achieveing maximum gains. Just be careful.

thanks for the replies all i will not be consuming any alcohol nor was i really thinking of doing so, it was just a question i guess out of general curiosity. I just want to get the best out of what i am taking. Also while on the topic of creatine i was wondering what if any are the general side effects, like can it make you tired? etc...i have read some articles and such but would like to know from people whom have taken creatine mono.

alcohol has been known to make you slow and dehydrated. You might have to start drinking more water on the days that you have your drinks. Its never done anything to me though and i drink every once in a wile.Just drink more water.
