I have read that spiking your insulin levels by taking some sort of creatine delivery supplement like CellTech(which is nothing more then alot of sugar). Creatine delivery supplements do nothing more then raise your blood sugar level really high, forcing your body to release insulin to lower back to normal. The insulin is absorbed in the cells and the creatin piggy-backs with it.

So I got a couple of questions on this.

Does anyone here do this before taking their creatine?
Do they find it works better if they do?
When do you take it? I would guess in the later hours of the day, as you are very insulin sensitve in the morning anyways.
Does this pose health risks? Raising you blood sugar and forcing it down can't be that good for you.
What about those excess carbs your getting? I mean its alot of sugar... Is it worth it?

Any answers would be great.

Thanks!

This is best done post workout, when blood sugars are low from an intense workout. Protein synthesis will simply not take place if there is an insufficient or delayed suply of energy and amino acids to offset post workout catabolism. This is really the only and optimal time for this protocol. An exception may be early morning, as you state, you are very insulin sensitive at this time also. But I would not make it as drastic. Cell tech is very expensive, and you can be much better served with a simple dextrose/malto mixture with your protein, and use a plain creatine monohydrate at the same time. Use an amount in accordance to your trainng. You know when you have had an extrodinarily hard workout, this is a time when you would use the most. On other days, you will have to judge. As far as the excess carbs. there is no need to worry. If you judge it right, this cannot turn to fat, in fact, these are not excess. There is overwhelming research to this protocol, I myself am a fairly recent convert.
