I've been reading a bit about anabolic steroids, and have been bothered by something. To quote Bill Pearl in his book "Getting Stronger", when refering to steroids, he says "Muscle cells make and store an organic molecule called creatine phosphate, or CP. CP is a short term energy restorer. Without it, everyone would find it hard to do more than two repitions of an exercise. Oral steroids enable you to make, store and use large amounts of CP."
I guess my question is, is the creatine that everyone seems to talk about here a form of anabolic steroids? I'm assuming the answer is in the difference between creatine phosphate, and creatine monohydrate. I'm sure someone here can help.

No no no no - don't worry: Creatine is NOT a steriod of any type. Okay, time for a crash-course:
Creatine monohydrate is turned into Creatine phospate, which, in turn, donates the phospate to ADP to make ATP, which is the fuel used by muscle tissue to make expolsive moments. (For more detailed info on the function of creation in the muscles, do a search here at FTs). What anabolics can help with is how efficient this process is done by the body.
That's a great book, and Pearl is a great strength coach/author.

Explosvie movements, not moments. Ugh!
I guess an explosive moment is what I have when someone pisses me off at the gym....
