I read in a M & F that it takes up to 20 grams of carbs to properly absorb one gram of creatine mono. I found the highest carb content grape juice I could yet it would still take 2.5 servings to equal 100 grams for my 5 grams of creatine. I cut it back to about 1.5 servings of grape juice as it was filling me up at 4:30 in the AM.

I was still not seeing any effects from the creatine. Perhaps I need to take the full 20 grams of carbs per gram of creatine or should I move on to CEE which I read doesn't require as many carbs.

Thanks for any advice.

Please note that the article states "UP TO 20g OF CARBS", not exactly 20g. This usually depends on the individual and their ability to absorb creatine and metabolize sugars.

atiger - Thanks, do you have a prefered brand & what do you generally mix with the CEE?

jbennett - I was taking around 60-ish carbs & not seeing the results. I hesitate to take 100-ish in hopes that it'll work.

I really dont think that the brand makes much of a difference but I may be wrong. I simply mix mine with water

I found some stuff on ProSource.net simply called CEE by Prima Force, no bells or whistles. It's a powder delivering 2g of CEE per serving, goes for $20 with 125 servings per container. I'm sceptical due to the inexpense but most of what I read says there's not much diff between the low price stuff & the over-hyped MuscleTech stuff. I'm wondering if the price diff between this & MT CEE-Pro is soley based on the 4 page adds they take out in M&F all the time. Creatine amounts were about the same in both product.

I always got better results taking it on an empty stomach. Load for 5 or 6 days taking 4 to 6 grams throughout the day. Drink extra water. Be careful in the summertime you are drinking plenty of water. Workout hard and the creatine should pump you up. Keep in mind, you will have to cycle off the stuff after about one month. Taking around 40 grams of Vanadyl Sulfate with the creatine split up throughout the day also helped my pumps. I suggest you don't do this for over a month at a time. Phosphgain creatine in the punch flavor and Ultimate Nutrition's Vanadyl Sulfate worked great for me. Don't skimp on good carbs for they really feed your pumps in the gym.
