Wait, what? What do you mean? That doesn't make any sense. What are you saying? I'm a little confused. Please do explain.

take 5g every day for 30 days...after 30 days both methods are equivalent....unless you need the boost ASAP...I would give your kidneys a break....

Okay, wait. I'm still confused. How exactly does creatine work? What if you DO want to boost really ASAP?

Loading of a plain creatine monohydrate is a time tested protocol. It works, you will reap the benefits sooner than if you don't. In the long run, both will work, the idea is to saturate the muscles with creatine, then maintain.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

20 g / d for 5 - 7 days ("loading phase")
5 g / d for remainder of cycle ("maintenance phase") A more customized approach is to determine dose based on mass. A common formula is: 0.3 g / kg / d for 5 - 7 days 0.03 g / kg / d for remainder of cycle Thus, an individual weighing two-hundred (200) pounds would require 200 lb * (1 lb / 2.2 kg) * 0.3 g = 27 grams per day for the loading phase, then 2.7 grams per day for the maintenance phase -------------- A life worth living is a life lived with honor and dignity..bow to no moral and bowed by none.. Nevermind. I found a CEE made by VPX at Vitamin Shoppe. It's called CEX at only 41.95 for 180grams. It says that I'm supposed to take 3 grams... Is that 3 grams a day, or 3 grams twice a day? Also I have a question about reps. I'm really sorry for being so stupid and naive.. I'm just so new to this.
When doing certain exercises, like Front Dumbell Raises, which require your hands to work separately, how do you count the reps and the pounds??? I'm really easily confused. I'm wondering this... Where you fill in the info on how many reps you completed and how many pounds you used: Do you count each weight amt from each hand/arm separately? or do you combine them? And with the reps, do you count one rep per hand/arm? Or do you bring one hand up, then the other and count one? :( |

Yeah, I second the question.
============ Quoting from chulla711: I have a question on creatine... once u are done using creatine....will u lose muscle mass? or do you have to keep taking creatine to maintain the muscle you gained? also, will it be harder to gain without creatine after you've cycled thru it..? ============= |

But most importantly however, I really need to know the answer to that question i asked before... It's kinda hard to workout confused. I don't know if I'm doing it correctly. Maybe I'll just make a new post with that question... yeah, I think I'll do that.

You will lose some size when you stop using creatine. You will retain the strength gains.

Wait, so, which way is the proper way? Cuz you said you do it that way and someone said they do it a different way (one arm motion-1 rep, second arm motion-2nd rep)
Which way is the correct way? The way by which I should follow to be able to correctly use the FT Schedule set for me. ============ Quoting from thedominator: dacapo85.. i count one rep.. when i have completed turn with both arms... so its like counting half rep per arm when i complete rep once with both arms i count 1rep... ============= |

Okay, so if I were to take 6 grams a day, after thirty days would I have to start taking less? or continue to take 6 daily... And if I were to take 14 a day then after 7 days start with 1.4, would i have to take 1. daily? This creatine usage is so confusing.

Also, I'm using Creatine Ethyl Ester, which is supposedly significantly different. The dosage is I think less or something... So, what would I have to be doing with it? Should I still continue to do the loading phase or not?? It's supposedly easier to absorb because of the ester.

well which one to follow depends upon u.. i do it this way because.. if i do a set of 12 reps.. i'll be doing 12 reps with both arms b4 counting it a set.. so basically i'm doing 12 reps for right and 12 for left.. if u want to count 1 arm 1 rep.. then do a set of 24

Esterfied creatine penetrates muscle cells faster and more completely thus smaller amounts are needed. Check your product, and as Charlie says, follow directions. Normally it is 2-3 gr. only.

got it! Yeag, thanks a lot guys! So three grams is what the can says. I'll be taking three a day... Assuming, of course, that it means three a day. Weird thing is, though. The container says grams on the directions. I went to the website however. I clicked on the exact product I had... The directions said 6 grams though. Everything else in the directions was the same, cept the water intake. (Also more, respectively)

The reason it says 6 gr. is it is usually a twice per day product, pre workout and 8 hrs.later for instance.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

I cycle it because if you dont yur body will become dependent on it so i take 2 week on and 1 week off after first cycle creatine will balence out in your system and you should expect normally gains.-------------- Don\'t think you cant do it know you can do it. |
2005/04/13, 10:46 AM
Dependent on it? Are you mixing your "creatine" in water or snorting it up your nose?

He means if your body adjusts and expects a consistant external source of creatine, your body will think it's no longer necessary to create creatine on it own. Thus, dependancy. It's not instant though, most people do 2-3 month cycles.
