Hello... I've heard that a side effect of taking creatine could be weight gain. Last December (2001) I started to use creatine for 3 months then eventually just stopped. However, I'm thinking about starting to take it again. I just wanted to know if anyone else seemed to notice this extra weight gain and if there is any way to minimize it. Also, when I was taking creatine last year I noticed an increase in stregnth but a couple weeks after I stopped taking creatine my strength level dropped way below what it was when I was taking creatine. Any suggestions on how to avoid these "side effects" or at least minimize them?

The weight gain is from the increased water retention and thats what the creatine is doing to your muscles. It does give you an energy boost.
Make sure you drink an ounce of water for every pound that you weigh.
