When I was in Jr. High I was told that I had a slight case of scoliosis. I have a 10 degree curve somewhere between my shoulder blades. When I stand erect and look at my back one should is higher than the other. I can feel it affecting my workouts. My right side sometimes has to compensate for my left side because I am not balanced. I notice this especially on any pressing exercises that I do. My right side tends to push up first before my left and I can't bring the bars or dumbells straight down. The bar tends to slant slightly. I am very aware of this so I have to make extra effort to make sure I bring down and push the weight evenly. Sometimes I pull muscles in my back from the strain. What else can I do to strengthen my weaker side and to help me balance better. I always use a spotter who sometimes guides me, but I don't want to develop unevenly. Any advice?
I think you are doing great already by being so careful. You do rowing exercises? You could also try to work with one hand only, dumbells and start with your weakest side.

I had a curved spine as a teenager. I went to a good Chiropractor and he slowly straightened it out. I then worked hard on building my back and leg muscles and for the most part, am pain free.
