I am working on shedding some weight and toning before swimsuit season. I am specifically wanting to work on my abs, but crunches/situps make my lower back hurt. I have been doing them at home on a flat, carpeted surface. I work out along with a Kathy Ireland video and am wondering if maybe something is wrong with my form. I feel more "burn" and pull in my lower back. I guess my abs are really weak! Is there any alternative to crunches for working/toning/strengthening my abs?
