Don't do such high reps with light weight like your cousin. This kind of workout can be used at other times, but are not ideal for strength and size. If your goal is just size, research some bodybuilding workouts and find what is best for you. If your goal is strength, check out some powerlifting or other strength athletics. If your main goal is to beat this guy up, then you're not going to get anywhere. Either your motivation will go away, or you end up hurting the guy and getting yourself nowhere. Train for your body's physical gain and health. You should also think about your nutrition. I know what I told you isn't an exact workout or exact thing to eat, but you need to research it and find out what works for you the best. You can't just listen to everything that people on an online thread say. Just my two cents.

As far as the curls go, don't just train with dumbells. You should probably change your workouts every 2-3 weeks so your body won't get adjusted. Use Barbells, EZ Bars, Thick Bars, Dumbells, or whatever else you can get your hands on using different grips and different styles. Just don't waste your time on any machines. But like I said, the workout you do depends on your goal. Research it.

-use no momentum
-use heavy enough weight where you can do 8-10 reps....
-do 8-12 working sets of 2-3 exercises....
-I prefer Dbs because you can work arms equally...however do use ez-bar and other forms(cables, machines, barbells)....to shock the muscles and keep muscles from adjusting...
-pause and squeeze at the top(curl at top as much as you can....ie full range of motion for you)
-do not use legs/back/shoulders to assist the curls...

Arm size is normally in proportion to overall body mass. If not, we may all be walking on our hands!! Many folks for instance do very little to none when it comes to legs, but bomb their arms. Do you see them getting any bigger?

Some people but they look funny man. There's this dude at my gym who's huge and crazy strong (I'm pretty sure he juiced it up a few years back). But anyways he never trains his legs (at least I never see it) and his legs are puny. It almost makes me think of him as weak since I see him grunting while he does all his weights and machines but I never see him do squats or anything like that.

thanks everyone, lol ye my fault bout the "i wana kik his as*", i have other forms of motivations too, but what if you dont go to the gym that often, i mean i got dumbells (25 lb) at home that i can now do 20 curls/reps with in-a-row but i have only been using them for about 3 weeks. shud i move on to the next weight level. and how do i train/work my back, shoulders, and chest at home?

go to a gym......go up to guys who have good sized arms....ask them how much they weigh......if they have 18in arms or more....I can almost garantee you....they are over 200lbs.

I was refering to the orginal question at hand.....and no offense....since your just worried about your damn arm size.....then your not into fitness for the long run...your just wanting somthing to brag about and wear a tight shirt with.......so it don't matter what dbs you buy, or use....cause by just doing "curls" you may get 1/2 in to 1in at most......and when you don't get the "magical results" that your hoping for.....you will throw them in a closet.....and never touch them again.

And I agree...

But to answer the question that he has been asking for like the 3rd time already, yes, go with the heavier dumbells to gain more size and strength. If the 25 lb dumbells aren't giving you enough of a challenge to get at most 10 reps up, then increase the weight.

you can do dips chinups pushups bodyweight squats one legged squats make a sandbag and do stuff with that. theres more to the body then just arms and if you want punching power it all has to start from the legs. just look at mike tyson, sure he had big arms. but his legs were huge. you need a solid base if you want to do anything.
