When boing bicep curls, is the barbell supposed to touch your shoulder blade? And for dumbell curvs, where should your hands be? In front of your thighs or a bit outside?
Thanks.

On bicep curls I stop right before the barbell touches the shoulders. When it does it is like locking your knees out on leg presses, it takes the stress off of the bicep. I like to have the dumbells in front of my thighs. if there are outside of the thighs it seems to me that I use muscles besides just the bicep to curl it up. These are both my opinion and others may have different preferences.

your hands you naturally let hang.....where ever that may be? Bone structure, and muscle size will depend where yoru arms naturally "hang"

stand in a mirror, an dlet your arms hang down, next to your side, loosly, thats wher eyou should grip the bar on bb curls, and where the db should fall on curls.

The barbel doesn't toch my shoulder cause my arms too big lol......just get a good squeeze at top, then lower it back down gently.

When doing barbell curls allowing the bar to actually touch the shoulders is counter productive. This pulls the elbows foraward and brings the lats and delts into play. Think of your elbows held in close to your body, and a bar running from one elbow thru your body and attaching to the other. Now this is perfect form and may not be comfortable. Try to keep it as close as possible. I generally bring the bar up until it is level with my chin about 6-8 inches from my shoulders. This is a position I have found for me that makes my arms respond the best.
