I am a college student who has lifted very hard for 6 years now. I have put on good size and strength. I am at the point now where I would like to tone and lose the extra fat. The most difficult part about this is the food at college. My current bodyfat is 13% and I would like to get down to about 4-8%. So if anyone knows any secrets on what to eat at the dining hall and what not to eat at the dining hall that can help me, please let me know.

Lots of veggies and cottage cheese, beans, fruit, chicken (no skin), lean meats. Probably a good idea to stay away from heavy cream sauces, casseroles, etc. and all those heavy desserts. Lots of low fat milk. Eat healthy!!

4%...wow..that's pretty low. I usually suggest that people start with one meal at a time..perfecting breakfast..then moving on to the other ones one week at a time. My dining hall has nutrition facts for each of the things they serve...best bet..stick to the simple stuff.. Grilled chicken breasts...stuff like that. Depending on your budget..you could add a shake here and there too. I would make an intermediate goal of getting under 10% first and then see what happens.

Good luck...

Like everything...I think moderation is the key. I have the same dining hall issues. I try to go for water packed tuna, egg whites, FRESH vegies, lean meats. As for deserts, I let myself have one per week 'cause come on...you know you want it ;-)

Sure do like those desserts!! Tuna - can't do the cat food though it's packed with protein!! Sounds like you have a good plan.
