My recommended daily intake levels seem to be very high. I am 6'4" 340 and it says i need to take in over 6000 kcals and 1200g of carbs. Does this seem correct? Are kcals the same as regular calories that are on nutritional labels?
Any help would be appreciated on this.

no no, the calculator is real high at your weight you should be at 2000-2300 cals a day and my carbs i try to limit to 200 or under for starters, but if you are coming from a high calories habit of eating like I was you need to make sure you gradually scale back cals 300-400 a week

Thanks. That's what I thought. And thanks for the info on how much to cut back per week. I wonder if the profile amounts they are listing is what I was taking in to be at my weight and anything below that is what I need to be at.
Who knows

2300 seems low to me. I lost 2 pounds my 1st week on my fat-loss cycle. I am 165 lbs. and was consuming 2200 calories.

my ntrionist through work is telling me 6'1" 380 to only consume 1900-2200 but i find that to be too low, myself personally i shoot for 2500

Well, using Amy's recommendation of 10 - 15 cals per lb of body fat wouldn't 3400 be the minimum (and maybe about right for someone who has more to lose?)
