Can someone out there who actually meets all their daily protein/carbs/cals/fat requirements please give me an example of their typical daily diet??? I am finding it impossible to even come close, especially with the PROTEIN. If I eat one more can of tuna or one more shovel -full of cottage cheese I'm gonna projectile vomit like I'm posessed by Satan! HOW do y'all DO IT?????? |

Bretto - it's not as hard as it sounds, just takes some getting used to. I keep hot sauce and balsamic vinegar in my desk drawer to put on the tuna. :) If it helps, I start my day with a protein shake that has oatmeal, flax seed oil, fruit (normally a bananna or strawberries. A couple of hours later I'll have some tuna or yogurt. I hit the gym about midday and have a protein shake with a little flax oil before working out and another afterwords with some carbs. We try and have dinner fairly early and usually have some lean meat or poultry and a couple of vegetables. I'll have some cottage cheese or something along that line a little while before going to bed. If I've been a good boy all day, the wife and I have a White Russian before going to bed so all the protein isn't necessarily healthy. :) I don't hit the 1.5 grams per lb of bodyweight but usually wind up with a little over 1 or so but my goals are more than likely different than yours and I do it more out of habit now than anything else. |

It is easy once you get used to it... However you feel bloated constantly for the first week or so. At least I did. I just made sure I ate every two hours and the rest was easy. -------------- My body is a temple, and my mind is the god I worship. |

First tey to eat 5-7 meals a day. In each meal try to get 25-30 grams of protein in each. If you get six meals say each had 25 g that would give you 150...7 meals with 25 grams gives you..175 and 7 meals with at least 30 g gives you 210 for the day. If I remember right one chicken breast has 30 grams or so.Plus most shakes and bars have at least that in them. -------------- "When in danger, or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout" LIFT HARD AND OFTEN!!!!!! |

lol, i am working to REDUCE the protein in my diet. Take one day this week (my worst for high protein500g cottage cheese - 73g 250g yogurt - 12g 3 pints(1.7 Litre-ish) skim milk - 42g 150g tuna - 35g wheat bisks (cereal) - 14g 2 x banana - 2.5g 2 slices of bread - 10g 100g prawns - 25g That was way over my guide intake for the day, pretty much everything i ate had protein in it. I think i get a lot from drinking so much milk. |

Jingo how much do you weight. It don't seem to high for me if you are working out hard. I take one gram protein per pound for me. I tell the guys I know that workout to take 2 per one pounds they weight. Just my two cents.Bretto, the best advice that I can give you is to log in everything you eat and adjust it day by day. It is hard to get used to it, but once you meet it, it is easy to stick with. Just play around with your nutrition a bit. If you are still way to low, try a protein replacement shake. One serving could have anywhere from 20-40 grams per serving. Tuna and chicken are also really high in protein. -------------- Lisa |

Don't forget the ft daily requirements is a guidline. I have trouble with the protein part myself my goal is 300g/day ft guid is 255. my recomended cal 3980/day I try to keep it under 2500/day carb/day rec. at 680 I try to keep it under 300/day. you have to juggle things around to get it right for you as mentioned 1g protein/lb is min. if using a lot weights go more 1.5 or even 2g. Fish, chicken, turkey, eggs (goose eggs are great if you can get them whites only) some lean red meat are all good sources of protein along with several others. do a search on protein for more alturnatives. -------------- Never be afraid to try something new. Thanx y'all. I'll keep the faith and TRY to keep the tuna down. :0) My diet does seem easier now than when I first started; I guess it will just continue to get easier. I'm not even that concerned with great taste; nutrition is everything, for right now anyway. I would eat a turd if I thought it met my requirements! By the way, what are the nutritional values of a turd? Maybe I'm on to something here. Hmmmm. Just kidding. :0) |
