Day one is done!

Protein = 111
Carbs = 274
Fat = 84

Holy smokes look at that FAT! My affinity for chips adds up quickly. What an eye opener!! Those Pizza flavored Ritz Bits and Roasted Tomato Cilantro Cuadritos looked so innocuous…

However, I will say that I am proud of myself that I did not think “Well since I ate all those chips and blew my diet today, I will just eat more chips and start over tomorrow”. I actually fixed myself a 3-egg white/reduced fat chz/salsa dinner and it filled me up. The “old” me would have kept on eating the Ritz bits. And I did my leg routine today. Hope I’m not sore until after my golf game tomorrow.

Question on the protein. I weigh 151 and FT says I should eat 151g of protein. I thought I read somewhere that you were to eat 1g of protein for every lb of “lean” body mass you have. I figure my Bf at has to be around 27-30% which would put my lean mass around 107-110 lbs. Today I stopped at 111 since I’m full and my calories were high due to those chips. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Hope everyone is doing great and thanks for this great site where I can give myself some kudos!

Well we always start somewhere....... and yes the very first time we look at the nutrition facts of the entire day, we sometimes get rather surprised.

About the proteins, I weight 152lbs and I try to eat around 140gr every day (don't know if I always get there since I'm no longer tracking my diet). When I'm on a competition diet the total amount of proteins get up to almost 200gr.
But don't focus too much on those numbers. Try different diets and see how your body respond.
Good luck!

I am sorry, I got off track reading nina's weight, congrats to you on your first day and keep up the good work, one day at a time is the best appoach to take in my opinion. Now on my diet I match 1 gram of protien to each pound of weight, 130 grams on the ave. now.

Both of you are very musclar though and probably have very little bodyfat...did you eat 1g of protein for every pound when/if you weren't so musclar?

I'll problably set my goal for 125g til I get used to eating so much. Thanks again.

Is that heavy? lol Pounds will always sound like A LOT for me since I'm use to kilograms......... Yep if one kilogram is 0.4539lbs and I weight 69kgs theeeeen it gets to 152lbs......
But I'm 5'11'' tall as well (staying around 12-14% bodyfat).

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that I have been in a gym weight training for ten years now but it wasn't before around 3 years ago when I started to eat more proteins that I FINALLY began to get results.
If you really want results, the nutrition is soooooo important!!

I am sorry nina, that just seemed high to me but with your height in consideration it wouldn't be. That was very rude of me. tj135, when I wasn't in training I couldn't tell you what I was eating in terms of protein. It is very important for me to keep track of this now because I don't want to lose the muscle I have strived so hard to get/

I was going to say that 152 is nto that high. My mom who does not weight train as much as nina does but is tall about 5'9" or so and weighs around 180 or so but looks thin. She just has very good genes when i got her training a few years ago using just 20lbs for most exercises she bulked up right outta her bra. I had her doing bent rows and her lats grew so fast she needed to get larger bra's. LOL now becaus of joint problems she does not lift that heavily but still has tons of muscle. Eat a lot and lift heavy!
