I'm sure everyone has heard this a millon times. If doing cardio for fat loss, is it best to do it at night or first thing in the morning?
Some say to do it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
I think as long as you do it, anytime is better than none. My schedule only allows me to do cardio at night during the week and in the morning on the weekends. Am I at a disadvantage because of this. Also, Do you need to do cardio for at least 45 minutes for fat loss? Thanks for the help. Great job on the site....... See Ya - Michael
mp2li...I do mine in the morning and eat light before (couple of pieces of whole wheat toast), and larger breakfast after my PWO about 30-45 minutes later. Works well for me. If evening is the only time you can find to do it then by all means do it, it's better then nothing.
From what I've read morning is the best time. However I would expect that any disadvantage would be minimal compared to the gains you'd receive from either.
For fat loss 30-45 minutes of about 65% of your max heart rate would be the most efficient for fat loss. Don't neglect weight training though. Muscle burns fat on it's own...as well as giving you a nice shape when you do slim down.
