I heard It was a great exercise, however I have yet to try it. I'm not sure how to do one and I don't want to injure my back. Any suggestions on how to do it right and maybe an easy weight to start at so I get the idea?

See the post on the powerlifting board entitled "deadlift , why we do it". There is a red sticky beside it. Rev8ball and several others have excellent descriptions of the lift. You can also look under fitness resources and see pix as well as a description. Click on health resources at the top of the home page, then click fitness resources and look for back exercises. You'll see exercise descriptions at the bottom of the page. If you're using an FT workout that calls for deads, click on the exercise and you'll see the same thing.

Yep, definitely one of the best exercises you can ever do for total body strength.

You would be amazed at how many people are "scared" to do it lol. You can tell when people rattle off excuses. It's hilarious.
