if you mean dead lifts, then it is an excellent exercise which works many muscles at a combination, but I've never heard of deadman lift before.

Dead lifts are done by using a barbell, bending at the waist you pick the weight up off the floor and straighten your torso. There are two basic variations. Straight legged and bending at the knees. If you are not famililar with this movement you should get an experienced lifter or trainer to hlep you learn good form before attempting it with any heavy weight. It can be a hazardous lift it you don't know what you're doing.

I did it today for the first time, I felt like I was walking funny but I liked the the stretch in the legs.
