can anyone tell me what the early signs of dehydration are and exactly how much water is one suppose to be drinking, before during and after a workout? Being a new zealander we are heading into summer and it feels like it's going to be a hot one so i want to keep going to the gym and keep my body well hydrated.
cheers

You can try this site:

or just do a search on google on the topic. There really is no correct answer it seems since there are differences in opinion. But the standard is usually ½ ounce of water per pound of body weight. Keep in mind that exercise and drinking caffeine products will require you to drink more.
Let google be your friend. :)

I get headache and feel tired when I cannot drink any water (because of whatever reason..)
Just make a bottle of water your very best friend.
(Hmmmm you have the summer now and here in Europe it's getting cold and rainy!! )o;

If I come home with a headache, that is the first thing my hubby asks me,"How much water have yo had today?" Then he pours me a BIG glass. Headache and lightheadedness.

The first sign of dehydration is thirst. When you become thirsty, your body is already 50% dehydrated!
