I have read BB1's posts about mixing dextrose/malto 50/50 in the pwo shake. But my question is how much of each? A teaspoon, tablespoon, 2 tablespoons? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Somewhere he gave the formula... I will try to guess at it, according to what my post workout shake amounts are - you want about 1/4 your bodyweight in grams of protein, a fast absorbing one like whey isolate, and then the same grams of maltodextrin/dextrose, divided between the two. They have different carb per amount, so you need to read your package, for example I take 26g malto, which is 4.4 tbsp, and 26g dextrose, which is 1 3/4 tbsp. mixed with 52g whey isolate, in 44oz water. I mix it up and drinhk half immediately and then sip the rest for about an hour.
I hope that makes sense!

I think I understand. If I'm mixing 48g protein, then I should have, 24g malto, and 24g dextrose in approximately 40 ounces of water. (Just curious though...why so much water? I normally don't use half that much.)

It has something to do with the rate of gastric emptying and digestion. BBfit gets much more technical than I do, but it really seems to be beneficial...

yeah, i always wondered about the amount of water i should use with the shake... the instructions on my protein can says 6-8oz but it feels way too little... so i just mix the powder in about 10oz and drink half of it right aways, and then add five more ounces of water and sip the rest for the next 30 minutes... but i've no idea if this is the most effective way of doing this...
