My mom has been diagnosed with both of these and yes she is overweight but has lost a total of 50 pounds. She can do pretty much without the glucophage supplements which is a major improvement. However, when celiacs came along it kinda messed up alot of things because with celiacs most of the foods that she is aloud to eat are very high in high glycemic carbohydrates. Kinda a lose lose situation. I was just wonderin if anyone had some help for her out there. I have given her an exercise schedule and she is doin very well with that.

With Celiac, you should avoid gluten which is a toxic protein found in certain grains (wheat, barley, oats, barley, rye). As you know many of these products we avoid because of the "carbs". Carbs in general are a bit higher on the glycemic index, so these two situations should play hand in hand.
Here is a pretty good web site:

yes I know more about this stuff than most people cuz I have been helping my mom. I wanted to know if there is anyone else out there with the same situation that has found some alternatives.
