Difference between protien suppliments?

I'm going to purchase my first tub of protien suppliment powder as soon as I get a couple of responses to this thread.

I see that alot of people are using whey protien, and alot also use different types, ie egg whites, etc.

For a beginner who only wants to start out with one tub, which would be best, and why? Also, if you could recommend a brand, i'm appreciate it.

I only shop at gnc, the staff always has friendly advice and solutions to my questions, i use their brand mega whey to develop lean muscle mass, but what are your goalS? thats what u have to consider and why dont u just go to any supplement store that you think you could trust and just ask the staff their, tell them your needs and wants and they ll give u a solution, and then u should judge that, if ure uneasy or unsure about it consult with more people.
