Yes, none. They are dangerous. Use food options. Grapefruit for instance works well. As well as green tea.

When something contains "natural herbs" it doesn't necessarally mean it is a good to consume. I can tell you that certain plants (thats all they are)when taken together or certain meds such as ibuprofin, or acitametophen can be really hard on the stomach etc. Go natural if you can.

For a "safer" diuretic I suggest TARAXATONE or DANDELION. With the taraxatone, you must only use it for a couple of weeks at a time and be sure to drink your usual amount of water. With the dandelion, that can be used for a longer amount of time, again, with regular water consumption. BB1FIT is right when he says they can be dangerous, but alot of people have used them with success and minimal side effects. I would never tell you what you should do, but from personal experience both supplements have worked for me and others that i know...be safe!

One other thought...I would suggest taking diuretics if you are competing in figure or bodybuilding NOT for regular weight loss. If you just want to lose weight, diuretics are NOT the way to go...good diet and exercise. If you are competing, then a few to two weeks out would be a good time to start...just a suggestion.

Actually Taraxatone is a very potent diruetic. It is meant to be used the last few days before a contest to get rid of any stubborn subcataneous water. As mentioned, it is potent, and there really is no need to use it if you do not have a competition in a few days.

That stuff kicked my butt...I took it the last week before the show. Yes it is potent, I used it for a week and a half...ouch! The only time I would suggest it would be at the last week, pre-contest. Ron, have you ever used any type of diuretic? I see you compete so it kinda' comes with the territory. If not, should one water deplete for a longer period of time before a show to make up for what the taraxatone flushes out?

I have used Taraxatone. Only on my first time. I found a much safer and better way with proper diet. One of the easiest tricks is to actually consume more water 2 weeks before your contest minimum, this way your body gets used to dispelling it and will not hold any. Then the last 2 days when you taper back and start to water deplete, your body is still giving water up freely, it hasn't caught on yet that you are water depleting. The potassium loading/sodium depleting really helps here
