After finishing my next FT.com training program I'm seriously considering devising my own.Can anybody give me some advice on how to break up the training week so I don't overwork a certain muscle group.Plus if the goal is still muscle mass should I still go for lifting heavier for less reps???

Thanks!!!

the best routine i like is the 2 days on 1 day off..........u can do chest and biceps on monday, tuesday legs, wed off rest, thursday shoulders, friday back and triceps.....although u can mix and match it if u like but thats what i would do u get good amount of rest and the day off in the midle of the week is nice......however what i have been doing since i'm " in season" now an di can't work out as much as i like i'm doing a 3 day work out week but double split( once in moring and after noon) combine that with my practices 2 times a week thats all i need, your just gonna have to play and see what works best for you but i would suggest traing no more than 4 times a week

Yes not a problem but take a break (or do legs) the day after.

Right I've worked out the days and can anybody tell me if it's ok, if not please point me in the right direction:
Mon=chest/triceps
Tues=back
Wed=rest
Thurs=shoulders
Fri=legs/biceps/forearms

Thanks!!!

that looks good man, but i would do legs thursday, thats going to be your tougher workout, hit it after the rest day. hit shoulders friday... including forearms in that workout wouldn't be a bad combo either... unless you are already doing abs or something that day.

i like ot keep my arms work outs seperate........just cause i think they grow better, i used to do arms all together........but say u do that with back or legs........thats 3 muslces ur tryingt o do in 45mins to a hour thats too much if u ask me unless u do like one excersice per tricep or bicep.........i've alwaysherd the shorter the better with ur work outs.........my old coach told me in high school the human body creates testerone for only abotu 45 mins to hour duringa w ork out, after that ur only burning calories, dunno if it s true but when i stoped working out for 1 2 hours at a time man i started getting big lol i mean i shot up about 15 lbs in like 6 weeks, but hey everyone is differnt find out what works best for u thats all u can do is expierement
