Is this a good idea? I kinda dread doing abs, but I wouldn't mind them being stronger. I know that I'm not going to see them cut anytime soon because I'm on a bulking cycle, but what if I grow the muscle underneath them and then lose weight later? Will the grown muscle underneath make them more defined once I start cutting? or will it be the same as if I didn't work out my abs at all?

Yes, this way they will be there when you cut. If you don't do this, it is hard as you know to build muscle while calorie deprived, and how many times do you hear folks yell they can't see their abs when dieting.

That's a good point that last sentence. You say it is hard to build muscle while calorie deprived. I must be misinformed, but I thought that it was impossible to build muscle while calorie deprived.
I don't have time to workout abs at the gym since I workout 6 times a week for only 1 hour. I am limited with the time i have because my mom waits for me while I workout. (she's goes out to stores she doesn't just sit on the bench watching me) Many people have different opinions over which ab exercises work the best. My question is, what works best for you? I'm sure you do abs.

Well, it is darn near impossible, I was just inferring the point in a "nice" way.

I'm sorry I forgot to add that I would like to know some ab exercises that are machine free.

Wow I never realized that there was so much exercises for the muscles. Probably because there are only so many core exercises that give you the best gains overall. Well thanks for the link.
