Dumbell Curls

Whenever I do dumbell curls, rather than my muscles hurting, the tendons/ligaments near my elbow hurt (inside of the arm, elbow pit).

Is this right? I think I'm doing the exercise right, but it seems like I should be feeling it more in my muscle!

I'm pretty much just starting out and using 10lbs weights.

Any advice, tips?

Do something very, very light to warm the elbows up. Sounds like you either have a tendon/ligament problem, or a joint problem.

Try 2 1/2 lb. db's and do about 20 reps or more to warm the area up first if 10 lbs. is your heaviest. 10 lbs. may be too heavy for you if you are just beginning and have never done anything before.

Linament may also be helpful. The tendons of the knees and elbows love heat. Linament, a long sleeve shirt, and a proper warm up.
