Change your patterns of behavior - next time you think about eatiung when you aren't hungry go for a walk or take a shower.
Start keeping ajournal aND WRITE DOWN THE REASONS YOU ATE WHAT YOU ATE, WERE YOU HUNGRY, ANGRY, LONELY, BORED, ETC. YOU SHOULD SEE (sorry, caps lock) a pattern emerging and then you can take steps to rememdy whatever it is that is causing your emotional or boredom eating. deal with issues and people instead of feeding the emotions. Find something that ioneterests you that isn't centered around food - exercise is a good entertainment, reading a book, calling a friend, watching a movie, playing a game.... there are lots of other ways to be entertained!
