Does eating foods with high Iron content, or supplementing Iron really help to make your body and muscle more solid and strong????
What does eating Iron do for you exactly? |

Do not supplement with iron. Men do not need it.

Well the other day I was going to buy some more vitamins since I ran out, and I saw some new vitamins that included 100% iron on a 2000 calorie diet, and here in college they really dont serve beats or spinach that is in good eating shape.
Why don't men need it? I'm only 18. |

Iron is nature’s rusting agent, and excess levels of iron in our bodies is one of the most potent ways that our body becomes oxidized, or prematurely aged.

OH WOW! I didnt know that, but doesnt it help you get more solid at all?
Whats the deal then with Popeye and spinach, and everyone always telling you when you're a kid to eat your spinach so you can get strong like Popeye? |

i think the best explanation is that popeye is a cartoon. not just any cartoon, but a strong cartoon. parents will say anything to get their kids to eat vegetables. using a role model who is enhanced by an artist's pen instead of eating is an easy way to lie to children about the effects of certain foods.-------------- if you get me started on quentin tarantino films, chances are you won't be able to shut me up. excuses are really good for making you fat. margarine is a liar who announces, "i am butter!" |

The reason popeye ate spinach is because decades ago when an anlysis of the iron content of various foodstuffs was done, somebody put the decimal point in the wrong place for spinach. For years people thought that spinach had ten times as much iron in as it actually had.

hmmmmmmmmmm, Interesting, It's just that When I have fresh spinach readily available from my college meal plan and I ate it like every other day it seemed to help.
