Is it possible to be eating to much in one sitting? I am trying to gain muscle and I am aware of how much you have to eat to gain muscle. I get in about 2000 calories a day and in my last meal I get in about 800 calories. I can't find time to get in the other meals so that's why one meal is so big! Is this bad?

Now I dont know if it is true or not, but there is an artical in this months M&F that talks about 1 day a week you can double your daily calorie intake and gain lean muscle and not fat. I havent read it yet but skimmed it and it talked about percentages of your daily intake per meal..I would think taking in almost half your daily diet in 1 meal like you did wouldnt be good for the system, and also would depend on the time of day you ate it (ie lunch to fuel for the workout).

not saying it's bad.picture this. you body is like the furnace on a steam train. the fire is already hot and you dump 40%of the amount of the fuel it takes to run all day in to the furnace.this amount of fuel is going to be slow burning due to amount. kind of smothering the the fire. buy stoking the fire more frequent you will get a hotter burn and a faster moving train.
when you talk about meals an apple, orange, hand full of almonds are great furnace stokers and are really easy to get in between your larger meals.
good luck..

well if you make just one big meal, that means you spent a lot of time wihout eating.
as far as i know, for maximum muscle building, you have to eat every 2-3 hours so your muscle dont starv during the day and have the nutrient needed to frowth.
also, a big meal will make you stomach growth too. remember your stomach is like a bubble: the more you put into, the bigger. so eatin several meals of same quantity help you not to have that big belly that no one wants.
got the idea? but if you dont care about this, i think do what you want and just eat the caloric needs requires for muscle growth.

I would "spend" this large amount of calories on your breakfast if you can. This would be a more optimal meal to do this.
Going hypercaloric for a period of 2 weeks or so is a good shock and will more than likely create a growth spurt.
