I hope some of you experts can help me with this. My husband works 12 hour night shifts at least 5x a week. Since it is a 1 hour drive each way he hardly has time for anything but sleeping and getting ready to leave again. I have been making his meals and eating schedule to fit in 3800-4000 cals in a day. So far I have been able to keep it pretty close to his outline, but now the problem is his days off. If he finishes his last meal at 9am Friday and sleeps til 3 he will be having his first meal (pre-workout)at 3:30p but since he will not be going to work he will probably only be up until midnight or 1a. Does he still need to get his entire 6 meals and 3800cals in that short time? Then the next problem is on Sunday, he will be up most of the day and then leaving for work at 6p which is kinda like 2 days in one. Does he need to eat sparingly and include it in his schedule that would normally start at 3:30p and go until 9a the next morning? I'm sure this sounds confusing to you....it is to me. Any help is appreciated, as he will be looking to me for guidance. BTW, he works in a hospital and is on his feet most of the night and usually has to eat on the fly, so some of his meals get mushed together and others are farther apart, but he is managing to get it all in most days. On his off time (what little there is) he is studying and taking classes for his RN, so I am happy to figure it all out for him, I just want to do it right though. Thanks in advance.
