hey everyone. I just came home from the gym completelty frustrated. I have been lifting very seriously for about a year or so except for a 2 month lay off due to some family issues. Anyways, i am a hard gainer im 6 food 160lbs and i fit the ectomorph discription perfectly. I reached a max weight of 185 at one point a few months ago but after i took my break i lost it all in a matter of no time. On the ride home I realized I need to change my whole lifestyle around if i wanna acheieve my goals. I know how important eating is and that is probally my biggest problem and i realize thats why im not reaching my goals. What im looking for is any website articles that pretty much lay out great nutrition for an ectomorph and workout plans. I know what i need to do but i wanna make sure im doing everything right this time.. NO SLACKING .. Please post any advice or articles that have helped you. Thanks

um just eat and weight train.........i'm the opposite i'm enodomorph.........but if I eat right, and excercise.....hit the weights hard........everything is good.
Theres no set diet out there for any bodytype......yes some are more "geneticlly gifted" than others.....but if you want it hard enough......you will get it. I like what bb1 said one time......there's no "hard gainer".....muscle isn't easy for anyone to put on.....it takes food, nutrition....time, and patience. Don't mater weither your endo, ecto or mesomorph.....diet is still key to all....... I may eat a few less carbs,, and you may need a few more carbs.....but its all the same.....in the end -------------- gravity is not a law, only a obstacle |

If you are not gaining weight, it is because you are not eating enough. Eat more food, more often. You will need to put significantly more time and effort into eating and preparing food than you do into lifting. Stop calling yourself a hardgainer and start eating enough food. There is no more succinct way to put it. And if you are not already you should be squatting and deadlifting.

I gotta agree with swarm, I'm definitely a hardgainer, the reason I gym with guys who don't put half as much into their training and don't eat half as much or even close as much of the right food as I do, guess who gets the best results after a few months of training, nope sorry not me! How can you say that I'm not a hardgainer

It seems to me that if some poeple have to spend an incredibly large amount of time and effort eating and working out while others dont in order to gain muscle, then it would be harder for some and easier for others to do it. just my opinion, Im no expert when it comes to this. I just think that there is such thing as hard gainers.

The term hardgainer is as overused by lifters as much as "I have a glandular problem" is overused by fat people. Sure both of them can be true, but they are not true as often as people want them to be. If you want to gain weight you need to lift big and eat big. I have yet to talk to someone that has committed themselves to eating 5000-6000 calories a day and lifting hard and not gained weight. Once you stop saying to yourself "I am a hardgainer" and start saying "I will lift this heavy object and then eat all this food" you will probably find that you'll do a lot better in your training.

Thats a good point Retro fish, and I'm not saying it's impossible to see gaines but the normal oke in the gym doesnt need to take in 5000-6000 calories a day, I have to. And no one has to know that, hardgainers shouldnt feel sorry for themselves and use it as an excuse you just gotta work your guts out!!!!!

I'm obviously not a doctor so I'm not even going to pretend to tell you that my eating habits are healthy. All I know is that I've gone from my lowest bodyweight of 180 about two years ago to my current bodyweight of 230. It's not all lean body mass but I'm still at a pretty low level of body fat.

swarm beinga basketball player / athlete he can eat 4000 plus.......also since he is an athlete....he has to have physicals......one of which is somtimes a urin test......they would have told himsomthing was wrong with his kidneys by now.
Protein is only hard on kidney if theres no water to flush it out.......Ronnie coleman eat 12 chicken breasts a day.....he's not the average joe.......however kidney's are kidney's. He seems fine. -------------- gravity is not a law, only a obstacle |

Andrew I think you misunderstood. I work out a lot but I don't play for my school, so there are no required physicals. At this point though I just eat when I'm hungry and since I'm not getting fat I don't think it's particularly unhealthy.
