Firstly, you know those frozen fries in the supermarket? Can I bake them and eat them for my carb input? Are they 'bad'?
Secondly, HOW DO I BOIL AN EGG? From a chicken? I tried once and the yolk was still watery! Yuck. Please help, I am losing on protein :) |

Raj, to boil an egg place 4-6 eggs in a pan of cold water. Set your kitchen timer for 20 minutes and turn the burner on high. The eggs will boil, the timer will go off and the eggs will be done. After removing the pan from the heat after the timer goes off, rinse the eggs in cool water to stop the cooking process. Voila! Hard cooked eggs.-------------- Anni ******* Quoting Michael: Your future is beckoning, pay attention to the call. |

A lot of times french fries from the market will be covered in a hydrogenated oil to preserve them better. I think your way better off buying a potato, cutting it up and making your own fries.

I don't know. I guess that depends whether you can figure out which came first; The chicken or the egg?

The eggs need 7 minutes, not 20 for boiling!

she said 20 minutes total and you said they were still runny when you cooked them, I am going with Anni on this one.
Buy a sweet potato, yam or potato, cut into thick slices, coat with cooking spray or olive oil, sprinlke with seasoning of choice (I like chili pepper or cajun spice) and bake in a 400 degree oven for 30-45 minutes, check at 20 and trun them over if you want to. -------------- An old thought for the New Year - \'If you fall down seven times, get up eight\' What matters is that you continue on. |

What can I say raj? Here on the prairie it takes 20 minutes to boil an egg from start to finish. Of course I've only been doing this for 30 years.

I have always boiled my eggs for 20 minutes. Seven minutes and I would have to drink my hard boiled eggs!-------------- Lift. Eat. Rest. Gain. ~Brad~ |

My boiled eggs come out best (easiest to peel and done perfectly) by bringing the water and eggs to a boil then taking them off the heat and letting them sit (covered) for 20 minutes.

Oh dear! I did not mean to be rude. I said "The eggs need 7 minutes, not 20 for boiling!" as a statement of exclamation, not of spite/anger.:( I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

I feel ya man. I had problems with boiling eggs at first too. Here's the way I learned how to do it:
First of all, have a small saucepan filled with enough boiling water to cover the eggs by about a half inch. Then gently lower the eggs into the water. Now switch a timer on and give the eggs exactly 1 minute's boiling time. Take the pan off the heat and put a lid on it. If you want a softer boiled egg, set you timer again to about 6 minutes. (some advise against it because of bacteria issues) If you want it harder, do about 8-10 minutes. |
