You can also buy egg whites in a small carton in the egg section of your grocery store. The only real advantage to egg whites over the whole egg is fat content, so if you're watching calories or fat, egg whites can help. Just use them as you would any normal egg...omelets, scambled..whatever. They're a great way to get extra protien without the fat. Personally, I prefer the fat free egg substitute with added veggies, which is just whites with additives to make them look yellow.

Do not drink raw eggs but you can drink egg substitute. Raw egg whites can get you sick. It looks like you are wanting to increase size and are not trying to lose weight so the yolks should be ok to include.

As long as they fit into what your goals are for the food intake, they will be fine. I start every day with 5 whites and 1 egg with 2% cheese. Soemtimes if I am getting hungry after dinner, I will slide a few in the microwave and enjoy

i just boil the eggs and remove the yolks. you can then chop them up and mix them with tuna, chopped celery, cottage cheese and some salt and pepper for a super healthy tuna salad.

The yellow has a lot of cholesterol, and while you need cholesterol, I doubt anyone would benefit from eating more than two a day.

Do not eat the yellow.... and 2 a day is far too much, 2 a week is a maximum

I disagree I eat at least a dozen eggs a week at times with the yellow part and my cholestrol is perfect. The "egg being bad for you" was a faulty myth from the early 1980's. Now that does not mean you need or should eat them. I like them whole they add good protein and fats to your diet.-------------- Less Talk, More Chalk! Depends on wat ur diet demands ... but if ur looking for adding protein content to ur diet then stick on wid boiled egg white and not the yellow yolk ... start with a small number cuz directly jumping on to consume 5-6 egg whites might cause some trouble to ur tummy and since they generate a lot of heat, u must complement it by consuming green salads. Egg white in itself is a gud natural resource for protein, i really dont see any sense using another supplement to replace egg whites.-------------- \" So many times it happens too fast You change your passion for glory Don\'t loose the grip on the dreams of your past You must fight just to keep them Alive \" -- SURVIVOR |

I eat 1 whole egg and 5 egg whites per day, every day and my bad cholesterol is just fine. Had it checked about 1 month ago. As Mutt said, they are not as bad as they made them out to be.

Mojo_67: I'm only going off of the nutrition labels.
And while I've read a journal article saying high bad cholesterol is caused by processed foods not foods high in cholesterol. I haven't read anything that says it's alright to eat as much cholesterol as you want every day, or reasons why you should eat a lot. (Perhaps someone could provide something?) But really, you don't need to worry about all that, if you keep your cholesterol to near normal levels, and get your fats elsewhere like flaxseed, olive oil, and almonds. (Which have fats that you *need* to consume, because your body can't produce them.) Besides, mutt eating a dozen eggs a week and having perfect cholesterol isn't really going against what I said. He's a big guy, and if he is going over what's traditionally recomended, it's not by a lot. |

I eat two whole eggs per day at least. My checkup was fine. I am alot smaller than mutt. The yolk has vital nutrients in them that you also need.
