I am trying to evaluate my meals in a food diary. I would like to adjust my meals to incorporate the basic principles of fat and sugar reduction and increased fibre intake so I am eating a healthy balanced meal - has any one any suggestions either on this site or another where I can do this? I would be very grateful. I would like to lose a couple of pounds nothing much but my main aim is for health

Are you looking for a site that will put all of this info together for you??? If so, you could try fitday.com or look on this site under nutrition resources

Thanks - I didn't realise it was so complicated! Have looked at the fitday site and have started a diary plan so will have to see how it goes. I'm finding it really hard and slow to do one on this site, perhaps I am not entering the information properly but will have a good look at it today. Thanks again. Carrie

I agree that the one on this site is not so user friendly, I liked the fitday one much better, but I actually just use Excel to do mine, I am very anal because I plan out exactly what I'm going to eat at least one day in advance (keeps me honest).

Hmmm I just wish that fitday.com had other serving sizes....... I mean for example when I put in my oats...... Errrr they say one serving. okey great I take 50 gr now how much is a cup? A big one a small one? With the top? Yes, I guess I could easily put 50 gr in a cup but then the total calorie intake will just be close and not precise. Precise is what I need for my contest preperation diet....
Ah well, I write everything down on my papers so I guess it's better than nothing....
