those days? I am so happy about my training, the fact that a new mutt is coming. Yet I am so stressed out and depressed. The reason is my job. It pays just enough to get by but that is not going to work with a new Mutt. I am ok as long as I make sales numbers, but that is so hard to keep going, and if you add the fact that I work for a outsourcing company that has before and will do again, come in on a monday and say"well you team is no longer needed thanks!" and I am out of a job. Sad fact is that in my area there are not many openings with stable long term companies that I can make a change to. I need to have benefits and the same salary as if I was making full commission. Arrgh sorry to vent but I have no one else to do ti to. Well thanks for the ear....:(-------------- LIFT HEAVY! BECOME STRONG, LIKE BULL! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

I feel for you Mutt. Part of the reason I am skeptical about getting out of the Marine Corps is the health benefits. I hope all works out for you, I will keep you and your family in my prayers.-------------- My gym dues are not paid with money. |

Tell me about it Mutt my dept at IBM just laid off 3 people. We were also told that contractors pay is being cut 5% again in may. This is the 4th cut in 3 years.-------------- I am that which must be feared, worshipped and adored. The world is mine now and forever. No one holds command over me. No man. No god. I live in an area with low pay job's and those are scarce, here it becomes evident that the military is the way to go because it's the only way to make a living. I can move back to Virginia where jobs are more available and better paying, but I'm finding that military life looks good for a single guy like myself. I feel what your saying mutt, I lost my job a year ago and am still trying to get back on my feet, right now I've got the PA national gaurd going for me and it's looking really good, and I'm thinking of going active duty after Basics and MOS training, atleast it's stable and if that drops out I've always got the gaurd to go back to. Hope something comes along for you man, now a days $$$$$$ means life or death and the job market doesn't look the best yet.:(-------------- A determined mind is the best weapon in any situation, a strong body is the road to victory. There is so much stress associated with a new baby coming. I know it's really hard not to spend time thinking about all the scary stuff ahead, but it really is going to be okay. No matter what happens in the future, you will take of your family. Take this time before little Mutt arrives to rest and spend time alone with your sweetie. Worrying about this stuff when it isn't happening is just going to eat you alive. All will be well because they have you. When you hold your new baby for the first time, you will see that nothing else matters. Bless you all.

Can you take a moment and see the good stuff happening? You do have a job (and I bet getting it was a significant achievement), you do have benefits. Sure it could end tomorrow, but until then or another opportunity comes along (or you make it), its money coming in.
Every area has drawbacks. I work in NYC - sure big pay, the Donald, corporate take overs and mergers left and right, a 2 1/2 hour commute - each way - but I'm choosing to love my job, most days. Tomorrow? Well, I try to save some - not much success - I think of every meeting as a job interview. Now I just have to hope I don't have to face a layoff - but not worry about it - if I can... What can I control? Doing the job, being as fit as I can be, my attitude on life. And if disaster strikes, I'll just have to deal with it. So many folks on this board have had to, and most have come through and been inspirational in their accomplishment. But its ok to complain, occasionally, I share your concerns. |

Myself, I believe in the 1 day at a time now, and plan ahead only when you need to. I know there is more to it than just that, but it helps to keep the complicated simple and the extremes livable. Yesterday is gone and who know's if we'll wake up tomorrow, so enjoy what you have now and make sure you save for tomorrow. Hardest lesson I've had to learn yet in my young life (that and to chose the people you form relationships with wisley).:dumbbell:-------------- A determined mind is the best weapon in any situation, a strong body is the road to victory. You will have enough to go around, I don't know how I know this, but I do.
If I am wrong, move to Virginia and I will train you to be a hair designer and pay you well to rock this town with your mutt-fabulous skills. God bless, Julienne |
