I want to build my chest and arm muscels. I currently do push ups and sit ups but I don't really have any equipment--any recommendations for other exercises I can do without equipment?

dips on the edge of a chair or stairs.
Use gallon jugs filled with water to do some chest presses, use books to do flyes. You can do bicep curls with home made weights also.

depending on your strength different size cans of food can be used as weights, jugs of water, books. Improvise! Go to the park and do pull-ups.

If you fall down seven times, get up eight.

You can get a extendable chin up bar (argos or index ~£7), that would alow chins/pull ups ect. I know its using some equipment but its really cheap and good - i've had one for almost 7 years now. I've never bothered fixin the metal brakets supplied, and never had a problem (though it left markes on some door frames).

Also to make push ups harder try putting your feet up, frist on a cuople of stairs then so you are parallel by resting then on a chair seat.
