I'm contemplating a new challenge of a fat burning diet/workout program via abcbodybuilding.com I'm wondering whether or not ZMA is a safe supplement for women to take due to the mention of increased testosterone? Any suggestions regarding which brand, & supplement use would be greatly appreciated.

That's all it really does is naturally boost testosterone. No fat burning properties in ZMA as far as I know. It will boost your immune system, though, but that again won't help you burn fat.

Actually, more testosterone would equate to a better fat burning potential. This is a scientific fact and that's also why men always lose fat easier and quicker than women. I would see no problem taking ZMA, but I would still do some more searching around.

Seems like that's predominantly the reason that they want you to take it for this particular "diet" (to build/maintain your immune system.)
Thanks guys, I'll try to find more info on it.

An interesting side effect I have found from it is a nice sleep aid! You don't even need the PM type, the Hp works just fine. I seem to have alot more dreams also than ever before, with ability to get up in the middle of the night, do my "business" if need be, and be able to go right back in and go to sleep. Have always had trouble before in the past with this too.

A couple more things a bit more technical about ZMA. ZMA can enhance healthy hormone production. Average strength gains in athletes taking ZMA were 2.5 times greater than in those not taking the ZMA formula.
Many bodybuilders and other weight training athletes have tried prohormones in their search for a legal and effective way to increase testosterone levels and muscle strength. However, new research has surfaced indictating that prohomones may not be the best choice for athletes looking to enhance their anabolic hormone levels and muscle strength.
ZMA is a nighttime anabolic support formula developed specifically to enhance recovery while improving sleep efficiency. The recommended dose 30 - 60 minutes before bedtime seems to work fine. Healing, tissue repair, anabolic hormone production and muscle growth are maximized during sleep, so quality sleep is extremely important to you.

Wow, thanks for taking the time & energy to pass along your knowledge. More quality sleep is always a major bonus!

How long were you on it before the nose bleeds begun? Is that suppose to be a "usual side effect" for women?

Wow, I have never heard of that! I personally have had great success with it! The post I made above on the benefits all seemed to hold true for me. Interesting, will have to check into that. What brand did you use? Most are just minerals, usually magnesium, Zinc, and some have B-6, and some some have NAC which is a good supplement also.
