Are these 6 meals that you are eating high in fats? Perhaps high in Carbs at night time? The key is to keep the protein very high.. I would suggest 60% - 30% - 10% You can also try some 'fat burning' supplements.. try the ft shopping.. you'll find a whole section to read up about those types of supplements. .o0 Arnold 0o. |

Do you eat meat? If you do, then lean beef, chicken, and fish are all great sources of protein. Also, protein shakes are a good source. If you don't eat meat, then protein shakes and tofu are high in protein and low in carbs/fat.As for cheese, have you ever tried eating light cheese? or light cottage cheese? It has far less fat, and just as much protein. Skim milk is also rich in protein and low in fat. |

Remember that the actual exercise training does not have to be high reps and many sets.. keep the training the same. The key is to add the cardio into your training.. this will make the biggest difference. The 15 treadmill is great along with the cycling. Keep in mind that cardio is most effective first thing in the morning or right after your workout..o0 Arnold 0o. |

Hi... seems as if your goal is spot reduction..you wana continue growing and have great trimmed abs aswell...all the tips that were given earlier make perfect sense...stick to 3 aerobic sessions per week...15 min on the treadmill is what I go 4 2...but I go 5.3 sometimes..increasing the duration and intensity helps a lot. also work your abs 6 days a week working the lower abs the upper ones and the obliques everytime..try varying the exercises from time to time...also consider varying your meals a little...eat egg white and leave out the yolk for a great source of protien...try nuts, beans, fish which are also good sources of protien....eliminate soft drinks, shorteninig and other fatty stuff.... |

Count your calories. Six meals doesn't mean steak and potatoes six times a day. I eat four "real" meals and two shake meals. Keeping my calories at about 3000-4000 calories.(I'm on a mass gaining cycle) So count calories to meet your goal.Rob |

Been awhile with no post but I have one more trick to add. That a.m. aerobic session should be before you eat while your body is in a carb depleated state to trick it into burining fat. Also I've heard that if you drink ice water it make your body burn more calories in an effort to bring your temp back up. O.K. so thats two,sue me!:) |

Eat right, exercise and rest. Honestly, this is about the most common question asked here. But that answer does about sum it up. Browse the forums and learn good eating habits. A good place to start would be the Specific diet and nutrition forum. Read and try to eat foods from the "grocery list for healthy eating" thread located in that forum. Then maybe go to the top of the page and click on the "exercise program" tab and fill it out according to your resources and ability. Good luck and welcome to FT!!!-------------- Hungry and mean! |

Christina,
If working out at home, I really suggest getting a swiss ball. They are great for working out. You can do so many different workouts with them, even more important, they work your core (abs, obliques, glutes, and lower back) even better. A strong core is very important for working out. As for losing weight, diet is key and cardio, preferably within 60-70% of your max heart rate is best for burning fat, using the Karvonen formula. If interested, e-mail me at coastie541@yahoo.com and I can provide further details on that and use of the ball as well. Eat clean, as they say, that is eat sensible meals, small and nutritious, every 3 hours, eliminate eating carbs after 7:00 pm before bed (they just sit there and your body processes it as fat). Need more info, just shoot me an e-mail, be glad to help. Best regards and good luck. ============ Quoting from frnchfry81: Try the Program from here they offer a homework out.. ============= |

The program I am currebtly doing has a few exercises with a swiss ball. I'd never used one before, but man those are tough!!! Talk about having to have a good sense of balance!!
