I am a 22 yr old female. 5'2"... 125-130 lbs. 6 years ago, I was 180 lbs... A few years ago I lost a lot of weight. Most of it was done in an unhealthy manner. But the weight loss that I've acquired in the past couple of years has been through good diet and strength training. My problem is that I have some extra skin (a.k.a. my body is not firm). Strength training has not helped this issue much.
Does anybody know about alternating between fat burning (less calories, more cardio-type exercises... maybe strength training with more reps and less weight) and muscle building (more calories and strength training)? My major question is: how long should each phase last? and what types of exercises would be best for the fat burning phase?
