Hi guys, i'm new here and I need to lose fat and build muscle. I'm 6'1 and currently weigh 245lbs. I am really not happy as this is starting to affecting my life. I go the gym occasionaly but I don't feel motivated anymore, I have recently started using an energy boosting suplement before the gym and has helped me a bit but I still don't seem to be losing weight, any suggestions on what to eat?? what exercise i need to focus on?? any other supplements???
Take a serious look at your diet. Make sure that you eat clean, and keep the foods as whole as possible. You're not really gonna lose too much fat unless you operate at a caloric deficit. That means that you need to find a metabolic rate calculator(they're all over online) to get an idea on the base amount of calories your body burns through the day. This site give out estimates that seem a little too high, so just google it.
Make sure that you're splitting your workouts right also. Depending on the number of days you go to the gym, this could actually decrease the amount of time spent there. Also work on getting some cardio in to help the efforts along as well.
