i need some help !! I am doing about 30-40 mins of cardio 3 times a week and have just started doing some weights twice a week. I also want to get my diet right and i am very confused. All the supplements, eating the right amount of carbs before 7pm - its all daunting stuff. Do you guys know where i can find recipies that will help me keep to 160g of protien, 400g Carbs and 30g of fat per day? I am curerently 158lb, 5'10 and have a 30" waist. I just need to loose a bit of flab - I have already lost 14lb but that was due to the Cardio and a lot of luck. I have plateaued I think and need a bit more help.

Up your weight lifting. This will pack on the right kind of size for increased fat burning. The best advice for hitting your protein/carb/fat ratio is protein supplementation. Most forms of whey protein have very few carbs and almost no fat. I mix them with a slimfast or fat-free milk. This slimfast adds a little taste and also some extra protein, carbs and fat. Often, different lifting magazines have some pretty good ideas for foods. I stick with grilled chicken, turkey/chicken sandwich meets, egg whites, etc. The basics. This can get boring eating the same thing over and over. However, the results are well worth it.

The best recipe I know for good carbs, fiber and protien is otameal with protien powder added to it. Make about 4-5 cups of oats and add 150g of protein and munch on it all day. You can try different flavors of protein to give your oats some varity.

Bill, Does that take the blah plain taste from the oats or do you add any sugar. I am thrilled to hear how you beef up your oats. I never thought about it thanks! I like W8's idea as well because I have a very hard time with the carb. thing.

No Sugar, Protein powder has everything you need to give it a more livly taste.
All I do is cook my oats (4-5 Cups) normaly and add protein (5-6 scoops) and stir it up real well. After it is done I put it in a bowl and take alone to work and munch on it all day. Using chocolate protein makes your oats taste like coco wheats (MMMMgoood).
Give it a try I'm sure you wont be disappointed.
