If I eat nothing but lean protein, fruit, frozen vegatables and fats from something like peanut butter, I would have burnt off the 5-8% body fat that I need to burn without losing much muscle. I've been at this for a while and have seen no results, and seeing that I'm only looking to burn off like 10 pounds of fat, I think I should have accomplished my goal by now. So, now Im thinking that maybe i should drop the fruit and Peanut butter and just eat protein and frozen vegatables and protein bars so that I don't have to worry about the fruit carbs and peanut butter fat. I've already cut out bread and i think cutting out fruit is kinda silly since its healthy for you, but Im at a loss. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm pretty sure I don't eat too little, so I'm clueless as to what the hinderance could be. So is the all protein diet what I should do? Should I drop the weight lifting and do cardio every day? Someone gimme some direction, por favor.

How many calories are you getting in daily? Are you consistent on your calorie amount? How much exercise are you doing daily?

I wouldn't drop the peanut butter.

If you are very lean it is hard to lose the last 10 lbs, your body becomes stubborn, At that point sometimes you need to roate your calorie intake or your carbohydrate intake to trick your body.

I am lean and it does seem very hard. Maybe this "body tricking" may be what i need. I don't count calories, but I usually eat around the same stuff, or same type of stuff, on a daily basis. I don't eat fried stuff or refined sugar etc.
Why is it so hard to lose if you're lean and how does body tricking work?

asimmer has given me advice recently on macronutrients and body having built muscle needing a new level of food... I didn't understand fully but analysed what I do normally eat and re checked what I call a portion size.
I did find that I don't need the vast amount of fruit (carbs) that I normally eat, but effectively did need more protein really as trying to diet, I had dipped low on meat and upped the fruit and veg.. My idea of a portion had crept up to whole tinfuls and not spoonfuls or 'real' measured cups!!!
Quantity was too high, balance had become quite wrong, well for that point. I decided to pump ahead with my Atkins style trial to give me a kick up the ..... Well straight away in induction it's all about protein and this is end of week 2 now and I've addressed my issues with portion size, got protein right, counted my fruits to include next week, got carbs in control and dropped 7 pounds..

So listen to asimmer, shock your system with her suggestion and be patient on time, set a target. The lady must have a nutrition diploma. If not we should make her one!
