Ok, so I've been on the slim-fast diet for approx. 3 months. I have only lost 7 lbs! Now I've been following it correctly, cut out chocolate and only drink water (the occassional french vanilla cappucino) but in addition to that i work out ATLEAST 4 days a week. I mean shouldn't I have lost more by now. I do the classes at the gym so it gives me a good mix of cardio & weight resistance. Mon. 1/2 hour of tush n tummy work, 1 hour of bootcamp(weight resistance) Tues. i do the bike, treadmill, & skier for an hour total, wed. 1/2 hour of butt legs n tummy, 1 hour of step aerobics w/ weights and 50 min. of pilates, thurs.- 1/2 hour of ab attack, 1 hour of straight step aerobics and 1 hour of weight resistance. now these are definites i never miss a day, i'll do an occasional fri/sat. here and there but for the most part that's my schedule. It's getting really frustrating because I'm looking back and 7 lbs seems like nothing to me. I need some help. :(

P.S. I have a workout partner that I go to the gym everyday with and she started after me but she's on the south beach diet and it seems like she's lost more than me, i mean we work together and people are steady coming up to her telling her she lost weight whereas for me they said it in the beginning but now i don't hear anything:(

First off, congrats on your perseverance and motivation.
Putting it bluntly, stop wasting your hard earned money on slim fast. You are working very hard but really defeating the purpose with that stuff. It is very high in carbs, very low in protein.
Eat real food and get your nutrients from real sources.
Sounds a litlle like you are over doing the cardio, and not enough weight training. Try your weight training 3x a week and do your cardio on the off days. 30-40 min of cardio is plenty per session.
Have you measured yourself? try doing that every 4 weeks and notice the difference.
Weight loss or gain is differs for all of us,stay with it, but eat real food!

Hi, don't weigh yourself for a way of measuring. See how your clothes fit. Muscle ways a lot...
Also, I have lost weight doing a woe (way of eating) called Sugarbusters. Cutting sugar out of your diet. I would stay away from Slimfast. I would stick to regular coffee with maybe half and half. If you want to follow Sugarbusters, you may need to go up to 4 carbs a day if you are exercising. Their web site is: www.sugarbusters.com. They have a bulletin board too. If you need help or want to know more, email me. I have a lot of great recipes.

Yeah, dcth the slimfast, check out grocery list for a bodybuilder in this forum and hit the weights.

You are probably putting on some muscle and increasing your blood volume (both good) and that will weigh more. get a trainer at the gym to do your body composition with calipers - much more accurate idea of what is goping on than the scale.
South beach is a good outline - higher protein, good fibrous carbs, and most importantly - real food. Slimfast is crap, IMO, try planning 5-6 small meals a day that include protein and veggies...you will lose weight.
