I am having a hard time getting enough calories and protein and still keeping my fat intake at where it is supposed to be. I have tried the protein shakes and I still do not seem to be getting enough. I am rarely ever able to consume the amount of calories I am allowed. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am the only one in my household who is on a diet and I am also on a budget so the expensive suppliments and substitutes are not an option.

Stop counting the calories and just eat low fat, healthy foods. You should all eat the same way. Don't consider yourself on a diet as it is a lifestyle change.
