While online support is great I get tired of exercising at home by myself and the gym scene is way not working for me. While the solution seems simple,(find an exercise buddy)not so easily done. With lack of commitment to exercise from friends and family, and very low funds from my end, I would be happy to just have someone to play basketball or walk (maybe eventually run)with. I would be well interested to hear if anyone has any ideas or any success stories from the same kind of slump.
Is there anyone at the gym that is usually there at the same time that you are, and also works out alone? That would be my first suggestion. I wasnt really comfortable at the gym by myslef when I first started out either, but as I have gotten to know a lot of the people there now I love going. I have noticed many people that come for a few weeks and then I never see them again. It is a hard thing to get committed to and I hear that you really need to do it for 6 months before you feel like it is something you cant miss. That is the hard part, staying committed in the beginning. If you cant find a friend who actually wants to be there with you, they will end up being more of a hindrance than a help.
