IM a sophmore playing football ... right now i weigh 198 and max out on a bench around 200, i would like to lose about 15 lbs of weight and gain a little muscle, i find it hard to lose fat and still get the protein in my body through food. i dont take any supplements and wont. What kind of foods should i be eating ... and does anyone have any kind of running or lifting plans or strategies to help me gain balance, stregth or speed ??? i would very much so appreaciate any comments

Streetrodder your muscle gains will be harder with out proper protein intake. You need to eat tuna,red meat,chicken you name it. Also there is nothing wrong with using protein shakes if you need them. You could actually be hampering your goals by not using a whey shake at least post work out. I think you need to rethink supplementation. Yes there is allot of junk out there thats just a cop out or snake oil. Protein supplements are not under the category of cop outs or snake oil junk. Protein is a much needed building block. Heck If I new then what I know now there is no telling where I would be at now lol.

Lift weights and eat like a jungle cat. Drink lots of skim milk and high quality proteins like mm said. Also get your high quality carbs. You need them for recovery and growth just as much as you need protien. Follow some of the training plan and templates I have posted here. Check the Westside template out and follow it to a T. If you have questions then ask.
