i'm taking 5 grams of creatine a day, i just finished loading. my question is for how long should i stay on the maintenance phase?. is 3 months too long or should i cut it down to 2?

I usually go 1.5 months on, 1 month off. But I'm not sure if there's really a finite rule on that. I'd cut back to two. Read the creatine article I posted last week, I think there was something in there.

When you are coming off your break, do you go thru the load process again?

Yes you do,for faster gains anyway.

I do. The excess (above what your muscles carry) is slowly eliminated from your system when you cease your maintenence dosing. When you start again, you'll need to re-saturate.
