Last week I made (and shared and enjoyed) little frozen protein smoothies.

Fruit, nf plain yogurt, nf milk, protein powder (vanilla, whey)

Poured in little Dixie cups, stuck plastic silverware (the forks really surprised some, but it was what I had around!) in and froze them. Tasty and refreshing.

My question - does freezing change the protein powder?

I know excessive heat can denature a protein (at what temp is still in debate per type of protein), but I have never heard of cold damaging it, at least not the temp a freezer would get to - I mean, we're not talking liquid nitrogen, are we? LOL..... I wouldn't worry about it, kirby.

I've been making ice cream with fruits, soy milk, egg whites and protein powder (don't ask me the recipe since I don't really know but I'm always just trying new things!)
Delicious!

Nope I once spoke with a smart guy (who works at a lab where they make the protein powder) and he told me that the cold will not damage the aminos....

I surely hope not...I make a practice of this! I freeze mine quite often, even make popsicles in the summer for frozen treats.
