I'm currently doing a weight program to gain mass.I have being a runner for the past 8 years and it's alittle difficult to gain mass.I'm taking a protein shake as a suplement(how many grams per body weight I need?)I started 4 weeks ago and I have gained 6 pounds but my belly is growing too.I have cut a little bit on the running. My breakfast consists of oatmeal+milk, protein shake or eggs, coffee then I have a snack between meals(granola bar)Then a lunch and 2 or 3 snacks before dinner.I'm a very energetic person and can't cut my carbs(i tired before,it didn't work)What should I do to get hard abs at the same time i'm gaining weight? Thanks,Juan.

Yo Juan!

I am by no means the authority here, but I do know a thing or two about gaining around the mid section. I believe that everyone responds differently to diets, but you might consider trying to modify your carbs. Rather than eliminate or reduce them, maybe try eating more low glycemic carbs (like brocolli, spinach, etc.) and less of the higher-glycemic carbs (oats, breads, pastas, sugars, etc.). The slower burning low glycemic carbs will still satisfy your need for the carbs (hopefully!), but won't cause a big insulin spike (so the carbs will be less likely to be converted to sugar and stored as fat). This method is working for me - it just takes time and patience.

Hope this helps. Best of luck to you!
