Hi,

i am a beginner aged 29, I have 2 questions.
1) I have been exercising rathter very infrequently for the past 5 years. My question is what are the chances of muscle development for me at this age. Genetically, there seems to be no issues. I have a doubt whether muscles can develop at this age. Please rectify and also let me know the diet (I am a vegetarian) and suppmentary foods that i need to take.

2.I met with an accident 4 years ago injuring my left knee. Due to the injury my left hamstring muscles are underdeveloped in comparison to the right. Please let me know of the number of repetetions I have to do for my left knee.

First of all, of course you can put on lean muscle mass (do you feel old at 29?!!!!)
Please do a search and some readings in the diff forums and you'll get all the info you need about your diet.

About your knee, do leg presses but only with one leg. Start with the weakest one and do 12-15 reps now do the same with the other leg. 3-4 sets.
Also ask the trainer in your gym.

Yes you can add muscle...I am 32 and I add at least a inch or two on my biceps every year or so. It can be done!!!!! AS for you diet I must confess I am a confirmed meat eater and have no experience as a vegetarian, but there are some here I am sure they will help!

Well, I don't know what you are reading, but I am here to tell you I will be 51 in a month, and I still am gaining. Listen, knowledge is power. A little wrong info can go a long ways. Forget all that stuff you hear from the "experts". With your hamstrings, if your gym has a standing hamstring machine, this would be ideal. start with your weakest first, and do more reps, and try to up the weight a little at a time. Don't go too fast. You can also do them lying down, just use one leg at a time. The same scenario with the weights. It will come back. Good luck.
